WEEKLY MORAL VICTORY BOWL PROJECTIONS

OK, this week I'm doing my own bowl projections, and then we'll see what Schlabach and Feldman over at ESPN.com think in a couple of hours.

I'm projecting the following teams to be eliminated:

• Miss State: The Bulldogs are one loss away from losing their bowl eligibility, and Alabama should take care of that in a couple of weeks.

• Arkansas: The Razorbacks are much-improved and had a big victory over Tulsa this weekend, but assuming they can beat Miss State in Starkville, they've still got to beat either South Carolina or LSU, and I don't think they can do it.

• Auburn: The loss in Oxford on Saturday was a killer. The Tigers will beat Tenn-Martin but would have to beat either Georgia or Alabama. Not gonna happen.

• Tennessee: The Volunteers should beat lowly Wyoming next week, but they'd have to then beat both Vanderbilt and Kentucky, and I don't think they're capable of three wins in a row this season.

Anyway, here are my projections, just for bowls with SEC ties:

INDEPENDENCE BOWL (Dec. 28): Nobody from the SEC (only 8 teams bowl qualified)

PAPAJOHNS.COM BOWL
(Dec. 29): Nobody from the SEC (only 8 teams bowl qualified)

CAPITAL ONE BOWL (Jan. 1): Georgia (10-2) vs. Michigan State (9-3)

OUTBACK BOWL (Jan. 1): South Carolina (8-4) vs. Northwestern (8-4)

SUGAR BOWL (Jan. 2): Alabama (12-1) vs. Boise State (13-0)

LIBERTY BOWL
(Jan. 2): Vanderbilt (6-6) vs. Tulsa (11-2)

COTTON BOWL (Jan. 2): LSU (8-4) vs. Texas Tech (10-2)

BCS CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
(Jan. 8): Florida (12-1) vs. Penn State (12-0)
