So Vanderbilt's next two games will be televised.
Saturday, the Commodores will battle the Kentucky Wildcats in Lexington, and that one's on the Deuce at 8 p.m.
The next week, the Commodores face the Vols in Nashville, and that one's on the Ocho at 12:30 p.m. EST.
Just kidding. Of course, any 12:30 p.m. SEC game means the handiwork of those smooth-talking fellows from the Raycom broadcast team.
So if I've lost you in my sarcasm or pop culture references, here's the truth:
TENNESSEE AT VANDERBILT
12:30 p.m. EST Saturday, Nov. 22
Dudley "The Dud" Field, Nashville, Tenn.
Dang. I just realized the Vols have an open date before they play us. But hopefully they'll prepare like we spent our open date preparing for Florida. One of the Vols' three wins came after an open date, but the win was against UAB and the open date came after the Vols' season opening loss at UCLA.
Anyway, here's a bit of some sparkling Raycom dialog from last week's Georgia-Kentucky broadcast.
Dave: It's a shame what's happened to Phillip Fulmer at Tennessee. Coaching is a very tough profession.
Other Dave: Yeah, I'm glad I'm up here in the broadcast booth.
Dave: (Silence.)
Other Dave: (Silence.)
