MISSISSIPPI STATE'S MEDIA GUIDE FORGETS HISTORY

Just flipping through the 2008 Mississippi State Bulldogs football media guide and was surprised at what's not in there.

It's got 210 pages, just like all the other media guides, including Vanderbilt's. But unlike every media guide I've ever seen, Mississippi State's doesn't list its wins and losses over the years. If Vanderbilt is willing to list losing season after losing season then everybody else in the SEC should too.

And unlike every other SEC team, Mississippi State doesn't list its results from every game in 2007. No, it just lists its wins.

Talk about blocking out negative thoughts.

And unlike every other SEC team, Mississippi State doesn't give information on the teams it plays this season. Not a thing. No enrollment information or stadium seating capacities or little mug shots of coaches and top players.

Hey, these media guides are sent to recruits, so why give out information on other teams? Why even mention your past losses?

But Mississippi State does something nobody else does. It runs a full page on each of its recruits with a full-length action photo. Vanderbilt and lots of other teams run a couple of sentences on each kid and no photos.

Don't know what it means. Just an observation.
