Ryan Seymour gets tapped for his first start against Florida... and as for Carlos Dunlap, Seymour says he's seen faster players

Oh boy.

Rule No. 1 when you're playing the No. 1 team in America and after just nine games you're already ineligible for a bowl: Don't make the other team stop laughing at you and have a reason to actually whip your butt.

Which brings up redshirt freshman Ryan Seymour, who gets the first start of his hopefully young career on Saturday in the Swamp. He's replacing the injured Thomas Welch at left tackle, which ought to give Mackenzi Adams pause for concern.

The Gators, you may remember, will be assaulting the Commodore tackles with ends Carlos Dunlap and Jermaine Cunningham, who've combined for 11 sacks and 16.5 tackles for loss in only eight games. (When you're a recognized collegiate powerhouse, you can schedule your bye week BEFORE the season's over.)

Here's what young mister Seymour told the Tennessean about facing Dunlap and Cunningham:

"I don't think I could have picked any better game to start my career off right."

Hmmm. OK. And then this:

“They are big guys like me. They’re not going to be the fastest guys I’ve seen all year.”

Yeah, they weren't quite as fast as A.J. Green.

Ryan goes to Vanderbilt, so he must be smart. Book smart.

Good luck, Ryan. You'll need it.
